As a beauty, hair care and wellness expert Michelle has grown, exploring new and different ways to provide quality service and products.
In 1987 she opened Salon 21, after 23 years of providing a great place for other beauty professionals to work, learn and grow, along with providing quality customer service and products, producing an 8-page newsletter, all you can be campaigns and a healthy lifestyle festival, she sold the business but kept her business name SALON 21.
God has given Michelle another dream, she is still doing what she loves, providing quality beauty services and products, she continues to educate, inspire women to look good and feel better. She teaches the consumers the benefits of going to a professional and using quality take-home hair care products for healthy hair. Plus the benefits of skin care and makeup application for women of all ages.
Michelle is operating her business SALON 21 at O My Hair Studio in Westchester, CA (LAX Area).
In 1994, Michelle established The Wellness Group, a 501(c) (3) non-profit breast, and whole health organization. They educate, inform and empower women on breast health awareness and a healthy lifestyle.
One of the things Michelle loves best is giving back to the community. In serving others, she has volunteered her time, skills and talent to the American Cancer Society (ACS) Look Good Feel Better program to help women with issues related to chemotherapy. Currently, she is a volunteer with the Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County Affiliate and Active in Komen Circle of Promise campaign to help empower African American women to be proactive about their breast health. She has also donated her talent and products to women and teen shelters and organizations.
Michelle has been recognized and honored by many for her dedication, leadership, creativity, and commitment in serving others. To name a few: BMW; the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; NAWBO/The National Association of Women Business Owners-LA; and the ABWE/Association of Black Women Entrepreneurs. She was highlighted in "Who's Who in Black Los Angeles." Photographer Valerie Goodloe featured Michelle in an exhibit of African American leaders of Los Angeles.
Recognition given by other organizations includes Kizure Products; the AHBAI/American Health and Beauty Aids Institute; Los Angeles Spectrum International Beauty Expo; received the Amazing Star Award from One Faith Fellowship. And, most recently received the Everyday Hero award from Barbara Lindsey and Associates.
Michelle's vision is about transforming the lives of women worldwide in the areas of beauty and wellness.
